Wascana Trails

Many hard pack trails that all connect. It is located in a valley so you have climbs along the valley walls. Trails for all skills. Lacking any serious techniqual. Shared with hikers so watch out.

Summary:
Spent a good few hours exloring here while I was in town, and was pleasantly surprised. Nothing overly technical, as others have mentioned, but there are a few spots that will keep you on your toes. The switchback-y downhill on the other side of the parking lot is a blast, as are a few other spots on the other side of the river. I think there are enough quality trails here to make a fantastic XC course for the Canada Games next year.

Recommended Route:
as above

Summary:
I rode Wascana on the August 30/03 weekend. If you stay on the main side of the river, the same as the parking lot, you are wasting your time. You need to cross the river, yes you will get wet. The trails here are over grown and are in need of grooming. Some of the trails such as Six Pack have been washed away. There are some good trails here. I feel that once it is cleaned up there will be some good runs to ride, even if you are looking for some good techincal runs. If the trails get cleaned up the rating could be a 5

Summary:
Go to the bowl and ride the HAMMERHEAD. That's not her permanent home, we just wanted to get her out there. She's bigger than any teet in the greenroom. This area is developping quickly and will continue to do so. HAMMERHEAD is just a warm up. Aside from the silly stuff, this is a great place for all skill levels. The trails on the trail map are great for beginners. The lost bowl and all of the stunts take a little practice. Overall a great mix and continues to get better.

Summary:
Todd, that was kind of a tainted review... at this point, I think it's fair to say that Wascana trails has pretty much the singletrack content of White Track, and the extreme stuff is coming along nicely. We didn't have an "xtreme" drop at the time of your writing, but as of now the Lost Bowl has had a re-vamp... ask Zlatan about some of the new stuff. We may not have a monster 7' drop out there yet, but we do have rhythm and flow in our stunts... things that are sadly lacking from the Greenroom.

Recommended Route:
the stuff's not hard to find... if in doubt, e-mail me or as a Regina-area rider...
