Trans Canada Trail Cyprus Hills
1 reviews
 5 of 5

The trail is all single track, and runs through the center block of the Cyprus Hills Provincial Park. There is a lot of steep ups and downs, as well as quite a few obstacles that are on the trail. The trail runs through open prairie, dense poplar forest and lodgepole pine forest. Very good chance to see moose, deer, elk, as well as a lot of smaller animals.

Ridden Trail:
Ridden Once

Summary:
This was a great challenge for me. I don't consider myself to be an extreme mountainbiker. I do like to hit the trails, but this trail was maybe a little tough for me in some places. It starts off with a very fast downhill into a forested valley. I was riding my brakes hard. As soon as you get down, you cross a creek and are put into a climb right away. This climb was very steep and filled with obstacles, like tree roots, fallen over trees and the like. This is how most of the trail went, a fast downhill, and then a lung breaking climb. I found myself on top of this plateau (just after I nearly ran head first into a male moose) taking a good breather. I enjoyed this trail thouroughly. I did take a good spill and put a hole in my helmut, but that was part of the fun. I plan on going back next year.

Recommended Route:
Same as above.

Don't know of any others.
