, from Rimouski, Quebec Summary: Since I moved to Rimouski, this has been my training grounds for my mountain bike season. It's not the greatest of trails, but considering I have a 3.5 km mountain bike trail that leads from my door directly to it, it's the most practical place to train! The circuit I take starts on the East side of the river and takes a series of trails up the river about 5 km. There are a few steep technical climbs that get you breathing hard. Then I cross over the river on the highway. I know it's illegal, but if I take the bridge that is about 1 km before the highway, I miss out on the best climbs, so I take the calculated risk. Anybody doing this should be conscious that it's at their own risk every time that they cross. Once over the bridge, there is a rapid descent that finnishes with a sharp left hand turn onto a small wooden bridge crossing a 60 foot ravine. Not a good place to find out your brakes are finnished! The view of the river is beautifull at this point! Then I basically ride down the other side of the river for about another 5 km back to the starting point. This isn't extrme mountain biking, but it's a lot more fun than riding on pavement! Recommended Route: Just ask anyone in town where "Parc Beausjour" is if you have difficulty finding it! Other recommended trails in the same area: There are lots of little trails to discover in this sector. Have fun exploring!
