1991 World Championships course
3 reviews
 5 of 5

This is the official course of the 1991 World Championships were held on. I think Heinrick Djernis was crowned champion. Basically this is a world class Mountain Bike race course. 8 km loop on hard packed and loose dirt. Very hard climbs (long and steep) with very technical, mostly single track, descents, and not a second to rest unless you purposely stop! Every second is action packed! To my knowledge, this course isn't indicated with signs, so unless you were at the 1991 Worlds, or you've raced on it in the "Coupe du Qubec", you're going to have to ask a local to show you it.

Summary:
this trail is for the mentally insane. most people who ride it ride the regular course but the real course top section is hidden for safty reasons. anyway if your there you kind of have to look for a whil till you find it but BE CAREFUL because the top section theres a very technical rock garden to a sharp turn then riding down some stairs what drop off a 4 foot steep clif so you end up being like 7 feet up with about a foot of space from your right arm to a hudge rock wall and if you go to the left you and up in a hudge boulkder feild this is persiton insanity, and if your really cracked out you can blast off a jump and skip the sharp turn and drop about 20 feet anyway if you try it i warned you body armer is required.

Summary:
I live at Chateau Bromont Oct. and Nov. of 98. I had just started mountain biking in June 98. I wish I could go back now that I have a couple years experience. The locals in Bromount taught me alot about technical down hills. Now that I have some practice and a better bike I'm ready to come back. This is the funnest set of trails I've biked anywere from Maine to CA many places in between. Heather thanks for hooking me up with someone to show me to the top.

Recommended Route:
Ride to the top and come back down, it's more fun than just riding the loop around the mountain. But if you have time try all the trails you won't get board.

Summary:
Since I'm the one who posted this trail, you can naturally deduce that I like it. Well, like isn't quite the word. This is by far my favorite trail!!! It is simply the most fun I can have on a mountain bike. There is not a single spot on this course that isn't action packed. You're on adrenaline from start to finnish. From steep switch back climbs, single track descents, jumps and stream crossings, this trail has it all! Anybody who is an advances rider will have a ball on it. And as far as training goes, well it sure gets you in shape! All mountain bike race courses should be this challenging! Whenever I go to Bromont, even though I've ridden this trail hundreds of times, I still have to ride it at least once! I've since moved to Rimouski, and I still drive the 500 + km just to ride it! It's the best! Anyways, go check it out for yourselves because if you've never ridden it, you're missing out on something!!!!!

Recommended Route:
Highway 10 from Montreal, then follow the signs to the ski resort.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
La Bromont extra-lgre (beginner-intermediate)
