About 35km of the Trans Canada Trail. This part of the trail is not very techincal. It is for the most part a 6ft wide flat trail and sometimes uses local roads. It is great for building up strength and good for getting your speed up. This part runs through the Port of newcastle and to Wilmot Creek (The trail directs you to go around Wilmot via to Hwy 2 but you can go right through Wilmot just dont go faster than 10km/h)It then goes past the DETOX building and into Bowmanville. It seem like you are biking through someones backyard at the end of the detox road but it is part of the trail. The trail winds past some lake front homes, around Bobby C's and the Marina and into bowmanville. East of Bowmanville the trail follows the S.Service road and eventualy cuts into the fields to your left, but you have to watch for the entrance. THe trail passes the nuclear plant, marches and enters Darlington Prov.Prk. The Trail continues in both directions...accross Canada

Summary:
I tried this trail with an open mind, I ended up riding about 2km of decent double track (really smooth and boring) and then about 40km of >>ROAD<

Recommended Route:
There is a wide variety of SH!TTY trails, each blow more than the previous one!

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Ganaraska or the Orono conservation area!

Summary:
Not much to say, its a simple track good for cross training or good to bring you r girlfriend on. Dont waste your time and energy taking the suggested Highway 2 detour at Wilmot Creek, cut right through and visit your poor old mother while your there..she worries about you...

Recommended Route:
I get on a Waverly and usualy go East

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Should try the rest of the T.C.T.
