The Pines

A pretty good trail system, with alot of pine forest singletrack. Nice berms, 2 sweet drop-offs, and a bunch of sandy singletrack. If you go on the pine forest trail with alot of whoops, turn back as fast as you can. It sucks! Otherwise, a pretty nice system.

Summary:
This trail is open, and in good shape! I rode there last weekend. Half of the trail is a good workout, lots of ups and downs, the other half is a little more technical, rooted pine forest. Pick your lines or you'll be walking up the climbs. Overall a great workout, some sweet single track, bermed switchbacks, a couple jumps. The Woodstock Cycling Club members have put a lot of work into this trail. Great job!

Recommended Route:
If you have a choice of taking the red (intermediate) green (easy) or black (hard), it should be a no brainer! Go hard!
To get there, take Hwy #2 off of the 401 to Oxford Road #4, turn right, go straight to township road 4 (right hand turn only),turn rigt again (before bridge). The trail is a km or two on the left hand side. the parking lot is shared with the Woodstock Flying club, and is gated.

OK, never ridden this trail. Would like to, but... (see trail policy on the Woodstock Cycling Club web site)>> http://www.woodstockcyclingclub.ca/trail.html

By the way, the map here at MTBR is wrong, follow the one at the WCC site.

Summary:
This trail has lots of turns and twists to it. You sure improve your bike handeling skills by riding this trail. The red trail is the easier one but for more of a challenge, go on the black technical trails. A few stunts are found on the black trails also. All in all a good ride. Took me about 45 minutes to do the red trail and some of the black ones. Cost is $3.00 and you will have to have OCA insurrance to ride there soon.

Summary:
The Pines is up and running. Initially trail was cut to get us riding. Now through creative thinking and hard work the trail is evolving. We now have 15km of cut trail. A red trail(easy)can be ridden by begginers or hammered on by the time trial set. A black trail(hard)is made up of tight twisty single track, naturally occuring obstacles, climbs, burms, some jumps and if you look for them small drops. Two short decents will have you grinning at the bottom. Open year round with a new state of the art gravel parking lot(follow the signs). Sure I like it, I helped build it.

Recommended Route:
HWY 401 to exit #232 Norwich Ave. East on Parkinson Rd. North on Oxford Rd.(aka Innerkip Rd.). East on Twp. Rd. #4. 2km turn left (north) down driveway to parking lot.

Not much, that's why we have to make this work.

Summary:
THIS TRIAL IS CLOSED!!!! DUE TO LOGGING AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NEW TOYOTA PLANT AND THE NEED FOR A RAIL LINE TO BE PUT INTO THE NEW TOYOTA PLANT! Trails were closed in the fall of 2005, for the logging and,as I put this review in the survey stakes have been put in place for the train tracks to go into the new auto plant. The logging has left a huge mess in the trails and, has destroyed a lot of the trails.NOT LOOKING GOOD for the Pines for 2006 and beyond.I will try to keep this site informed of the process,if we do go forward with opening up the trails again we will need lots of help to clean the place up!(Jan02,2006)

Recommended Route:
Don't Go!
