Summary:
This trail is the best in the area I find, Some areas are hard and fast where some are very technical. Also know matter when you ride these trails you are going to get dirty. When I ride these I usually do a loop by going on the left side of the trail, then cross over Taylor-Kidd and going through the right side via the atv trail.

Recommended Route:
To get to the trail, if your coming from downtown Kingston, Take Highway 2 down to taylor kidd turn left and stay on that road untill you come to colins bay rd go past the lights, go overe brige and either pull to the right shoulder or go onto left side.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
I would recommend Fort Henry Hills, or Parrots Bay Conservation area.

Summary:
One of my favorite routes is as follows- Go left off Taylor Kidd and follow snowmobile trail to first right singletrack. Take rocky path until it forks at a huge fallen tree. Take left path along singletrack that crosses small stream and two wood obstacles. Comes to another fork at a steep hill- take either route up but take the furthest left singletrack. Comes to the uphill side of a 2 foot drop. Right before the lip take a left and ride along the ridge. Young trail but take the obvious route. After crossing over the pseudo doubletrack take the single track that follows the ridge. Don't take the crazy downhill!! Folow along the ridge until it crosses an obvious downhill -fast and smooth. At bottom of hill take a left and head for the bend in the river. Have a smoke and a bite to eat. Next travel along right river bank. Fun trail lots of loose rock and log obstacles. Beware of stinging nettles in mid summer. Follow this single track until there is no more. Don't take the first turn off. Stay by river. This leads to river bed section with two drops back to back leading into rock garden. Coming out on to double track take right then left then right. This brings you to a long haul up the ridge ending with steep section of loose rock. At the summit head straight along double track until crosses fire road. Head straight across road and take first right up into Sherwood Forrest. Lots of fast ups and downs, roots, exposure along a ridge. After travelling up the ridge take a right through hidden valley. This meets up with fire road. Take turn off to left just before. Short trail takes you into moon like rock garden. Follow rock and stick markings to cliff edge on other side. Leads to back to Sherwood Forrest. Take right at crossroads. Leads out of forest along trail you rode in other direction. Cross fire road again and take trail on left you passed over earlier. This trail will eventuall take you back out to Taylor Kidd. For extra riding cross over the road and do the other side of Collin's Bay--see Brawnyland.

Summary:
I spent 2 hours riding there today, both North and South of Taylor Kidd. Not a drop of mud to be seen, no bugs, it was fantastic. There are a few places (especially on the south side of the road) where bushes are overhanging the trail a bit, but things widen out. Lots of varied single and double track to choose from, most of it pretty technical in places.

Recommended Route:
As described

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Fort Henry.
