Amaizing trails for all levels. There is a 4km easy beginners loop. A 6km intermediate loop, and an 8km expert loop. This loop is probably half uphills, its got a few dropoffs, lots of big logs (12 inches or larger) 1 short extreme downhill that you can push 45km/h on. All trails are always in good shape, because they are groomed and worked on virtually every day. Crap that shouldn't be there (massive boulders etc) is removed everyday, and they are always adding to the obsticles to make them harder (more logs before a dropoff etc.) The Ruts are combed out when they get too bad, and there are some killer man made jumps.

Trail Directions
Take Baseline past Springbank park,(it's huge, you can't miss it) and continue until you get to Griffen St. Turn left here, and follow the road for like 2 min until you reach a sign on your right that says "london Ski Club, Boler Mountain." Turn right. Now you're in the parking lot, so go straight until you hit a builiding, (stop just before you actually hit it) and buy your 4$ day pass inside, and ride.

Summary:
Reading the reviews that are from 2014 ( out dated).
They have improved the trails(see it for your self) and plans to build more. they are keeping the sand off the trails, go there after it rains it will be a little slick in one or two spots but it dries up quickly and makes it tacky. They added a interior loop so you can cut out the big climbing, but it not marked yet..it will be soon.

As for the random people and their pets roaming around they are trying hard to keep them off the trails posting Bike trail only signs, but still few people walk on it.
All in all it has the biggest climb in southwestern Ontario and they plan to build more trails.
Come out rediscover Boler and you can sit out on the deck with a beer and play beach volleyball.

Summary:
This trail is going down hill, There is random people and their pets roaming around, making it awkward to maintain speed or enjoy some of the downhill sections. They are horrible for putting loads of sand at the bottoms and tops of hills, makes it almost impossible to maintain enough speed to get up a hill as the sand just kills the momentum right before your climb, or if your descending with good speed down a section the sand just kills your speed and makes it tougher to makes turns at the bottom.

For the the same cost as Fanshawe, just go to Fanshawe, its 10 times better and you dont have to worry about someone tossing a bunch of sand at the bottoms to try and soak up water. Horrible idea.

Summary:
After reading a lot of critical remarks about Boler, I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was on my first visit there.
The main features and trails:
* Beginner trail - 1km
* Intermediate trail - 5km
* Advanced trail - 8km
* Extreme section - 2km
* Trials/freeride park
Note that the advanced trail is mostly the same as the intermediate trail, but has extra loops and the occasional alternate route.

Style: Since the trails are built on a mountain/hill, there's a great deal of up and down riding. It's an intense aerobic workout so you need to be in good shape, and a heavy freeride softtail is really not the kind of bike you want to be carting around on those hills - stick to a lighter XC hardtail. The descents are usually quite short (except the final one on the advanced trail where you can hit around 60kmh), and are usually followed by short uphill sections that your momentum will carry you up. There are a few longer uphill climbs as well though. The different sections on the trail are labelled with names like "Heartbreak Hill", "Cobras Corners", and the trail itself is well-maintained and in excellent shape.

Technical: The trails aren't very technical, although there are a few roots and bumps and twists and turns here and there, but experienced mountain bikers should be able to ride quite quickly on the trails. It's the fast and short descents that make this trail so much fun. The extreme section has some more technical features, such as logs and rocks, but even this section is no more difficult than the Cains Rd trail. Nonetheless the regular descents might make this trail unsuitable for people with no mountain biking experience - a flatter trail like Fanshawe would be a better place to begin.

Trials park: The adventure park only features a few small stunts, including a couple of dirt jumps, a skinny, a teeter-totter, a short northshore structure/ramp, and a few larger northshore style jumps.

Employees: The workers are friendly, although they aren't bikers themselves.

Racing: Boler hosts weekly XC races on Thursday nites at 6:30pm.

Cost: day pass $6, season pass $75

Recommended Route:
Don't bother with the beginner trail (red signs), it's more just for kids. The 5km intermediate trail (yellow signs) is a fairly good workout, but the more interesting and fun sections are on the 8km advanced trail (white signs). Doing the intermediate trail will take experienced bikers little more than 20min, so you'll probably want to ride the advanced trail from the get-go. Entrance to the "extreme" section is from the advanced trail toward the back of the park - it adds less than 2km to the advanced trail, but is worth doing if you are up to the challenge.

Summary:
This trail is pretty good when your ride following the white signs (most difficult). Has some nice obstacles on the trail. there's 2 pretty good jumps following some of the downhill sections. if your going fast enough you can get some pretty good air on both. there's a new rock garden that was just added on part of the trail thats nice to ride over. After a big climb , there is a section with a couple of berms after each other. throughout the trail there is afew climbs but just as many downhills. no mud on the trail wich is good for me because I hate mud! not too difficuclt to ride. i did the white section and i'm 13. i only had to get off my bike and walk it when I got to "Bob's Staircase" section. Trails maintained daily and there is nothing on the trail that isn't suposed to be there which is a plus. $6 to ride from 9am to dusk.

Recommended Route:
i dont' know. my dad drove.

Summary:
Just wanted to submit a review in responce to some of the negative crap that is written about Bolar by some very small minded morons. I would be the first to admit that in a global sense Bolar is very modest in what it has to offer. But considering it's location (basically on the outer limits of the city) it offers a great oppotunity for some decent mtb'ing.
How many other citys can offer that. It's also a enclosed course, so you wont get bugged by hikers, dog walkers, horse's, etc. For race training it's damn near perfect.
