Ardaugh Bluffs

Average Rating:    (3 of 5)

Lots of steep climbs and descents, some minor technical stuff and some fast swoopers. Put in on Allsop Cres or on Ardaugh Rd at the Catholic Highschool. Some dirt jumps in the pine forest on the opposite(north) side of Ardaugh. Bring your billygoat legs for the climbs. Pretty cool ride right in the city. Look for trail location and map on the Barrie city website.

Summary:
This trail offers a great cardio and leg workout. Lots of hills and steep climbs/decents. Some single track but mostly double track/fire roads. Lots of trails with many road access points. Good map available on the city of Barrie website with post marker locations. Easy to get lost without a map but just exit to a street and if you know the area its easy to find your way back. Overall it's an awesome trail considering it is right in the city.

Recommended Route:
I tend to do what is called "the ring trail" which is approximately a 5km route with a good mix of single and double track with some good climbs and decents and some minor technical stuff.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Coulson Hill on the north side of the 11th line of Bradford just on the east side of Hwy 400.

Recommended Route:
Start from the Ardaugh end and start climbing Stay left when the option permits, it will take you around in a big circle. If you have time take the side trails. If you get lost just get on the road and you are a 10 minute street ride back to your car which is at the bottom of the hill.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Midhurst or anything north of Barrie, probably only about 1000k of trails that way including Hardwood Hills.
