Seguin Rail Trail

0 of 5
This is a rail trail like no other I've been on. The rail line was built not for passenger or freight service, but for hauling logs — and it has hills. The Seguin Trail is also the major east-west spine of the 230 km Park-To-Park Trail (see links), which is envisioned to link Algonquin Provincial and Killbear Provincial Parks, as well as Arrowhead, The Massassauga, and Oastler Lake.
Note that this trail is multi-use including hikers, bikes, trail bikes, ATV's, horses, and, at the westerly end, cars.
NOTE: See the trail's Official Site for Permit Information and cost, and don't forget your insect repellent.
Take Highway 400 to the Black Road interchange about 10 km south of Parry Sound. Park at the Ontario Tourist Information Pavilion, or the commuter parking lot. If you were to drive across the overpass in the NE'ly direction, and continue straight instead of following Black Road to the right, you'd drive right into the beginning of the trail.
