Bartley Smith Greenway
1 reviews
 1 of 5

The Bartley-Smith Greenway (BSG) is a 15-kilometre natural valley corridor that follows the course of the upper West Don River through expanding residential and business developments in the heart of the City of Vaughan.

The corridor is named after Anne Bartley Smith of Aurora, who made a generous bequest to the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) for restoration of the Don River. When complete, the BSG will provide a continuous multi-use trail system from Steeles Ave. northerly to Teston Road, linking together a series of city parks and recreational facilities through a natural corridor of scenic open spaces and wooded areas. [copied from the linked BSG site]

Currently the trail system runs from Steeles Avenue east of Dufferin to Jacob Keefer Parkway (location mapped), and from McNaughton Road north of Major Mackenzie Drive to Cranston Park Avenue at Teston Road. The surface is mainly limestone screenings with some sections of asphalt. It crosses Langstaff Road and Rivermede Road at grade, but passes under Highways 7 and 407ETR.

The southernmost end at Steeles Avenue is directly across from the westerly trail in the City of Toronto's Ross Lord Park (see map 4 at http://www.toronto.ca/parks/brochures/parks_trails_1.pdf).
