Awenda Park
2 reviews
 4.5 of 5

>30km of 4X4 trail that is well marked from Awenda park's trail system. Some of it is challenging with roots and rocks. Great beach, and lookouts of Georgian Bay from the Bluff Trail. Can easily spend a day riding here. Experienced riders will find technical singletrack that weaves between the 4X4 trails. There are technical climbs, and rocky, rooty decents. The single track is unmarked but can be found easily by taking any one of a number of unmarked trails off the marked trails. Can get to single track from Southern Trail Head at Toanche park....West off the 4X4. or proceed on 4X4 for 3-4km where more st begins. Have fun exploring! Check map in images.

Summary:
What a great riding spot!! This is what mountain biking is all about. Go to the beach and bluff for excellent views of Georgian Bay. Gives you a nice destination and reward for hard riding/training! You can come here and do fast 4X4 trails for hours for a great aerobic workout with challenging climbs and drops.

Or, do technical singletrack over logs, roots, rocks, switchback climb/drops. The trails are through natural unspoiled hardwood forest. Deer are a common site. Cool.

Recommended Route:
Park at Toanche Park. GPS coordinates of trail head are N44.49.944 W079.57.204 Website with a map http://geocities.com/healwithsteel2000/index.html

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Mountain View Ski Hill , Hardwood Hills, Collingwoods 3 stages
