Start riding against traffic, darting in and out of cars. If you're really good bunny hop on some of the cabs hood and continue riding over the rest of the car. Now watch the cab driver get out and start screaming at you, don't worry it's not in english so keep riding. The best is when you bunny hop from the back of one cab to the front of the next cab behind it. Then you have two cabbies screaming at you, again not in english so keep riding. Now if you get hungry or thristy and have no money on you, no problem, because there are people on the side of Yonge St. that is willing to give out spare change. You can't miss them, they're dirty looking and have cups or hats full of change asking people to take it. You ride up to them, they look at you and will say "spare change"? So grab what you need and say "Thanks"!!! This is the best training for any mountain biker!!!!
Summary: Are you serious? There is nothing good about going down Yonge St unless you're a bike courier or in a car. Even those two aren't worth it. Too crowded, stupid drivers and not enough space anywhere. If you want to use your hard earned/pathetically wasted health care dollars, then ride it.
Recommended Route: It's called the TTC. Or perhaps find some urban riding somewhere else or go to the Don.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Either start hucking and urban or get off the roads.

Summary: Riding down Yonge St. can be fun, but also thoroughly irritating as well. Plus, inhaling all the fumes really blows, and who needs traffic lights? That's why I recommend doing this "route" in the middle of the night (i.e. between midnight and 6am)! It's much easier to get away with stuff at night, and there aren't stray pedestrians and/or bike cops to deal with. The financial district is soooo much more fun when you know that lazy-ass security guards don't want to bother with you at 3am! Stairs galore, wide open spaces and lots of interesting little concrete/metal barriers to play with (I think they're supposed to be "art" or something.. who cares, they look better with tire marks on 'em). Another reason for going at night: the traffic signals become street decorations.. no need to care about green or red (or amber, for that matter), just go! Try skidding around in cheap-ass gravel parking lots if you're really bored or just want to test your skill at this particular move. I would also recommend the SkyDome area, as well as the Harbourfront condo region. You can get your bike into so many different places that you just can't go during the day. Obviously, don't be retarded and bring lights while you're out doing this stuff late at night downtown.. Oh, and if you live far from downtown and/or work for a living at 9am (either of which would make all of my suggestions sound implausible), no sweat.. go on Friday or Saturday night. But stay off the roads then, since there are likely to be more drunks leaving clubs & bars. Who says city riding is dull?
Recommended Route: Easy. Just find your way downtown. Preferably at night.. follow the CN Tower if you really suck with directions.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Tommy Thompson Park. HUGE rock field that is damn near impossible to get through without dismounting at least once..!

Summary: Grab a cars draft and go, hit all the lights if your fast enough. Watch the cops as you enter the core, they take offense to buzzing them (lots of side streets to lose em). fun, fun, fun all the way to the lake. Or take it slow and enjoy the urban all the way down. Lots of stairs and drops.
Recommended Route: Start at yonge and 401 and blow all the way down to the lake.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Spadina and Bayview

Summary: this route is loads of fun just draft a car all the way and weave in and out of traffic\pedestrians fun drops along the way. watch for realy bad drivers though, they hate it when you kick their cars but it's fun because you can always get away.
Other recommended trails in the same area: if you need a quick east to west or vice versa route across Toronto try the train tracks, they have a ditr maintenance road all the way beside them, just watch for the trains.
