Welland Canal Trail
8 reviews
 3.5 of 5

Running along the western side of the canal, this trail is reportedly also used for motocross racing. With over 40 miles of single track and fire roads this trail makes for a great ride with lots of tight turns and some spectacular whoop-de-doos. We have done some great night rides through here. How fast you go is determined by your skill level.

Summary:
A good race with the fellas should work up a good thirst. Take a dip in the canal after. If you're a tough guy try, to swim across the canal with your bike on your back...don't try this alone!!

Recommended Route:
If you ride canal bank into Port Robinson you'll find a serious race course used primarily by dirtbikes, just follow the road up the hill.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Short Hills, the Beach (Port Colborne), the rock quary near Robin Hood flour.

Summary:
If you ride in from Woodend you will be trespassing on the new golf course that is there now.You are in the trees for the most part and if you stay on the cart paths you should have no problem reaching the canal trails. I have never been stopped yet. I hear the golf course is in financial trouble so this small problem may soon be gone.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Henly Island, Short Hills, Firemans Park and Queenston Heights.
