Trail goes south and is easy. When you get to the road go west 1/2 k and continue s. Trail is much better here. I ride here and never see another bike or HIKER!!! This trail works its way to the Cateract Trail and then to Erin. It is a full day ride From Alton to Erin and back.

Summary:
I have a friend that lives in Alton and we ride the trail though the week to stay ready for the weekend. There are trails behind the Millcroft Inn that have a pretty awsome final hill that you drop down(the pinnical). We also ride the trail at the end of Station Rd. You can ride the hard packed forest trail there in a half hour at a fast pase. There is a great spot to stop and grab a drink at a free flowing sping. The trail that continues south to #24 is difucuult due to 4 wheel dr quads. The Grange trail can be riden by anyone, to ride the pinnical you need some experiance and legs.

Recommended Route:
The directions given are easy to follow.

I ride at Kelso for my home base.

Summary:
There are well worn trails going everywhere off the main trial and you can have a great time exploring.

Recommended Route:
The route is easy up to hyw24 and becomes harder until you get to the Cateract. From there on it is dead tracks to Erin. Turn around at 24 and go back, you will have a good ride.
