A fast, challenging and technical course. Climbs are short and steep and so are the descents. Host to the annual O-Cup race ( IMHO, a race any non-racer type should do [I don't work for MOC or WOW] ).
From Toronto, Ontario:
Major highway route:(drive time aprox. 1 - 1.5 hours from 400/401 junction)
Take highway #400 north to highway #89 exit.
Turn left towards Alliston, Ontario.
Follow highway #89 through Alliston.
The second set of traffic lights once outside of the town of Alliston will be Airport Road (county road 18).
Turn right. Mansfield Outdoor Centre is located 10 km north of highway #89 directly on Airport road.
Summary: I live in these woods and ride a couple times a week ever since moving up here a couple year ago... This is the third season and I still cannot get enough of this place. Not rocky rooty technical, Sweet flowing single tracks that go on forever between with some awd drops and tettar, Log ride .The Dufferin County forest and Mansfield combined 1900+ar. to play in. You can miss some great trails in there if you not looking. Fun Factor is relative to speed, Your going to need to pedal in here....Watch out during hunting season!
Recommended Route: Park at the top of the hill, turn right as you enter, Park just before the gate. Go south through log cut, Hit little booter take your first right, follow the most used trail and your good... When you get to a T in the road where a tree has a painted red arrow pointing to the right.... Go left!!! This is the lolly pop junction to watch for it on the way out or you will be going around in circles... There are outs all over the place and back doors that you will have to find.... If you ask me nice I may show you...,,,, but endless sweet single track

Summary: Challenging mix of single and doubletrack. Lot of climbs, nothing really technical. Good place for a race. There were a few climbs that I had to walk up, and a couple that I am not sure I would have ever been able to ride up. Sandy and dry, very picturesque.
Recommended Route: I did the 2007 O-cup xc #1. Weather was perfect. Course is dry and sandy. My ride was completely clean after 2 laps.
Not sure what the arrangement is here when there is no racing, if one can ride here whenever. There are private property signs. But, most likely I am guessing it is okay and that this is a campground sort of place.
Race was very nicely managed. I am not sure how I finished, I am really too out of shape to be competing, but what the hay.

Summary: Road the trail in the middle of May, and when other trails were still quite wet this trail was bone dry.
I road the blue (intermediate/advanced) and was very happy with it has a relative newb to MB. Lot's of soft ups/downs, mostly singletrack, even a few stunts. Only complain is the markings...they were almost perfect but I got lost once and could never find my way back. I had to ride the black (expert) trails, which I walked 1/2 the time. Lot's of other riders had the same comments.
Recommended Route: If you're new to singletrack, the blue is fun and challenging.

Summary: This is a great place to ride. Its not the cheapst but its very competeitve (way less than hardwood) and its closer for me too (coming from toronto). Lots of challenging trails, well maintained, in my opinion the best place to ride in southern Ontario.
Recommended Route: Check out the yellow trail, and the black, both are great, sections of the yellow are used in ontario cup races frequently.
Other recommended trails in the same area: hardwood (pretty good, but not as great), kelso (cheaper and closer to toronto, but not even close in terms of quality).

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Summary: It was awesome, haven't been biking since having kids. Totally love it and would do it way more often if it was closer. We did the blue course and didn't get lost, easy to foloow signage. Did it once and decided to do it again, it was that good. Lots of climbs, steep drops, and good technical stuff. Challenging for both of us!! Bring your helmets, leaves make it easy to wipe out in the start of the season when trails are less used. (I have the scars to prove it!) Great trails, we will return.
Recommended Route: Check out all the trails an pick one more challenging, don't be a wimp
