Jack Pine Hill
5 reviews
 4.2 of 5

If your looking for adventure and a variety of difficulty, Jack Pine Hill is your place to be. Roots, rocks, ladders, river crossings, drops, steep descents, are just some of the challenges you will encounter on the many trails and loops. If you are an extremist just itchin to put your bike to the test this is definetly your place to be.

Ridden Trail:
Once a year

Summary:
Excellent trail!! Nice downhill ride to test the brakes and suspension. Lots of dropouts and short hills to blast up. Some challenging technical sections and bridges to cross. When this trail gets wet good brakes are a must. The terrain is mostly dark earth which becomes quite slick with rain. Lots of trail development has been done here. There is plenty of room to make more trails up there. I am definately going to ride there again. I used to ride this area every weekend back in the 1980s before the housing developments crossed the pipeline. I'm glad to see there are still places to ride up here!

Recommended Route:
I started from Ski Club road near the tunnel under the train tracks that connects to Trout Lake road. I followed Ski Club up to a power transformer station and started riding up hill.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Tower Drive, Carmichel Drive, Northshore Road, Nordic Ski Club, Songis Road

Summary:
Since most of the technical good stuff is at least 3 hours drive away from me, I took a shot that North Bay would have some good stuff to offer. I was not dissappointed. The people who did the work on these trails, my hats off to you. Great ladder bridges and wicked drops, lots of downhill. This early in the year, the trails have lots of mud, and I imagine mosquitos and blackflies will hit hard mid summer. The trails are very well marked Richardson Ridge and McNutt Family trail have many offshoots where you can find a good host of structures to ride. A great place to put your full suspension bike to the test. Intermediate to advanced riders will have no problems here, its just a matter of skills to ride the skinnies.I will be back asap.

Recommended Route:
Just as the below stated, this is a very easy trail to find.

Summary:
Awsome ladders, ladder drops, ladder river crossings, steep downhills. "extremist welcome". Downhill and crosscountry races every Wednesday. X-country starts at 6:00pm, Downhill shortly after. Highlights of the downhill course are the 2m drop from a rock, a bridge over a fallen tree into a tecnical narow descent along an escarpment, wide open fast sections with banked turns.

Recommended Route:
Find your way up airport hill and turn right at the school. folow that street to the last left onto janey and you're there.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Escarpment trails, come in and ask us about them.
