Inglewood to Cataract

The trails in this area are some of the best that you will find in Southern Ontario, with fantastic singletrack, hills, and scenery. There is a large network of trails between Olde Base Line Rd. and Hwy. #24 to the North. Some trails are very technical, and some are old quary access roads, but the vast majority are Bruce Trail. All trails (except where infrequently marked otherwise) are leagal but... the trails are multi-use, so be especially curteous to the pedestrians and horseback riders you meet. The down-side? This area is very busy in the fall. None of the trails are mapped, so if you don't have a map of the Bruce trail that shows a few of the access points, or you don't have enough time to get lost, you will need to speak with or ride with somebody who knows the trails. That's not a disaster though. The folks at Caledon Hills Cycling are both friendly and helpful. The up-side? Fantastic trails, and you can easily ride 25-30 miles without retracing your own tracks for more than 1 or 2 miles.

Trail Directions
The trails are approx. 45 minutes North-West of Toronto. There are several access points/trailheads. The easiest way to get to the trails is to go to Caledon Hills Cycling in Inglewood and ask. Directions to Caledon Hills Cycling. From Toronto, go to HWY #410 North. Take #410 North and continue past it's end (where it turns into Heart Lake Rd.). Continue on Heart Lake Rd. past Mayfield Rd, past King St. to Olde Base Line Rd. You will know you are there because Heart lake Rd. joggs at that point. Go West on Olde Base Line Rd. past Hwy. #10 (Hurontario St.) to Mclaughlin Rd. (stop sign). Turn right, and drive 1/4mi. into Inglewood. Caledon Hills Cycling is behind the general store.

Summary:
nice and easy... and a bit confusing when you get to the trail's end :-S. if you're at the most westerly point on the trail head, look into the bushes northward (yes, i mean right into that hill). if you get up there, the park's there. it's a madre to get up... i suggest going down.

Recommended Route:
Ask Caledon Hills! they're the bomb (i bought my bikes there)

These are well used trails and will have you lost in no time. Hikers are a pain and think that the trails are their's. Ride On! Don't miss out on these amazing single track cuts through Gods land.

Recommended Route:
McLaughlin road north to Inglewood. Then go to the bike shop in town.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The Alton pinnicle is a good weekday ride. Park at the library on Station Rd. Ride East to the trail or start from the Mill Croft Inn.
