Racer Summary: I go to a wednesday night series there and I have raced Pauls Dirty Enduro there and plan to race the Ganaraska Gear Grinder this weekend, There is a hudge network of trails with verying diffuculty. You can get steep chutes, Fire roads, tight switchbacks all in sand, rocky, rooty conditions. These are real fun trails with alot of flow. Recommended Route: There are so many trails, so many option just take a day off and ride. bring a trail map. Other recommended trails in the same area: Beagle Club road ski trails is the most easily public accesd trails to me it's 40 minutes east of Ganaraska.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Yes the sand can be a pain but the terrain is varied. I bought a Balls Map & after comparing the coverage area, I felt it wasn't worth it. I fugure you're better off w/ a GPS & the GRCA map. The West Forest map will be ready for this summer. Recommended Route: I either park @ the end of Wilcox Rd or by the farm on the Boundary Road & just ride my own loops.

Cross Country Rider Summary: The Ganaraska is a mystery. If you are a first time rider it is just a bunch of double track and easy trails. Once you get to know a bit of the 12,000 acres of trails you will find some amazing single track, hill climbs and literally tons of 5 - 10 km unbroken single track trails. The big issue is finding the good stuff. (one of the things that the locals love is that the hidden single track are in perfect shape) One way of learning the trails is to race in the fall race called "pauls dirty enduro" it is a single loop 100 km race broken up into smaller loops for those not wanting such a long ride. This race covers a lot of the really kewl trails. I would suggest going on a weekend and asking someone where the "sticks and stones" trail is and follow it break to the right after it ends and go exploring. Oh yeah take a compass...after years I still get turned around. Recommended Route: take hwy 115 north of the 401 to Kirby. Exit on Kirby Rd #9 (heading toward oshawa ski club) go about 5 - 8 kms to Cold springs road and follow the road north to the forest center. A 2nd route is to go along Rd #9 and after about 4ish kms take Langstaff road to the north and go to the end where it bears to the left in a 90 deg turn. park and ride on the fire road north for about 2 kms.....at a crossroads where the road t's to the right take the single track to the south east marked with a mororcycle sign. You will have about a 1 hour single track ride

, from TO Summary: rode the orange loop plus several single track trails branching off from it double track trails are easy and fast with some hill climbs, great fitness ride or to introduce new mtn bikers to the sport single track trails, at least the ones I rode, are hilly (Oak Ridges moraine) and a bit twisty but not scary technical so you can ride at a good rate without getting killed, endorphins come from speed rather than fear Recommended Route: don't want to recommend specific routes until I have more knowledge of area, have ridden there only once, Canada Day 2003

, from Bowmanville Summary: Great trails, a little sandy in spots but always a great ride. Worth the drive. I ride this quite a bit and haven't been anything as nice. One word of caution....watch for the poison off the trails. Stay on them and you'll have no problems. Recommended Route: Go to the Forest Centre and check out the trail map. The ski trails are the most clearly marked. The longest loop is 16km but you can add a cpl of the shorter loops onto the ride and give yourself another 10km or so. Other recommended trails in the same area: Long Sault, Northumberland, Durham Forest
