Weekend Warrior Summary: I've only recently started to ride the trail and I think its been obliterated by several things: erosion and development. I suspect its only getting worse. Theres a point where the trail vanishes (into the creek, so be aware).
Its over-grown and theres lots of branches and fallen stuff in the way so expect to walk a couple of sections.
Its an extremely technical ride in some parts that will test you and your bike. The previous reviewers were probably not riding the ridges, which are insane! Recommended Route: Start at Nielson Park (dundas and westmall). Theres some Community center with parking, and an unfinished road where the trail starts. Head south. You're going downhill slightly, and I've found a bit nicer than the other way.
Hey you get what you pay for, and if you live in the area (like me) its a great way to burn off some steam.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Don Valley.

Cross Country Rider Summary: There is a new trail in Etobicoke Creek, starting on the Toronto (East) side on the south side of Dundas. It goes for a kilometer to a dry crossing to the Mississauga side (Etobicoke Valley Leash Free Park). When in doubt, turn down stream. The trail then travels on the West bank through an erosion barrier, meadow, climb to a shale bench, then drops to another meadow. When the trail nearly hits the creek broad-side in this meadow, it turns 90 degrees right (downstream). Look for the next dry crossing about 100 feet from this point. This crossing takes you onto an island, turn right (downstream) and follow the island trail to its opposite end and another dry crossing. From here the trail joins an old trail system that goes under Queensway, up a hill, along a very to extremely exposed ridge, then down to Sherway Drive (3 variations). The trail continues south, under the QEW to the paved trails with 4 single-track side loops all the way to Lake Ontario. Challenging climbs, lots of exposure, and unlikely terrain make up this route.

Downhiller Summary: Very fun trail. Can almost equal the Don Valley for fun. Some technical parts with roots and logs, fire roads, dowhills and winding singletracks. Can make a fun loop that is almost flowing with one detour over a bridge. Lots of off shoots trails and even a little valley with bridges and drops. One section with dowhills is fun to take on, lots of roots too in that area. Kinda eerie though with that discarded rollercoaster at one point...kinda Blair Witch kinda feeling in some parts.
Definately go with someone who knows the trails or go with some time to kill to explore the trail. Not worth going north of Matheson Rd, trails are so under used it's hard to use. Recommended Route: Start from the end of Rathburn, trail will be near the creek (on East side). Follow north. Cross north of Eglington and follow trails north until Matheson. Go across bridge (west) and find trail on left hand side. Go south on west side of creek. Follow trail south until you get to Burnhanthrope. Fun loop, will take about an hour to do. Other recommended trails in the same area: Don Valley. Or urban. Just get on your bike.

Weekend Warrior Summary: REVIEW IS FOR THE SOUTH ETOBICOKE CREEK TRAIL. Mostly singletrack that weaves with the paved path. There are some technical parts with rocks, fallen trees, roots and "bumps". The singletrack is mostly flat and curvy in the trees. Recommended Route: Can start from either Marie Curtis Park or from the Trillium Health Center. From Marie Curtis Park, just go north on the paved path on the east side of the creek and find the singletrack paths that weave from it. From the Trillium Health Center, go west in the parking lots until you get to the creek. Just look and you'll find an entrance. Becareful because some high paths are washed out and the drop will hurt. I believe this trail can go all the way to Centennial Park and the North Etobicoke trail to the airport, but the path was washed out and I ran out of time. Other recommended trails in the same area: Don Valley, dirt park on Humber Trail
