Erindale Park

There are a few main trails, very predictable and fast. This is one of the best places to go if you want a variety. You get fast downhill, grueling climbs, superfast singletrack, some extreme technical stuff, and pleasant warm-up and cool-down rides.
Many access points but best bet to find trails from inside Erindale Park. The manicured park is just East of Mississauga Road on Dundas Road. Once in parking lot, ride the trail beside the Credit River upstream. You will see trails going into the forest on your right. Make sure to abide by the signs (some are non-bike trails). Once in the forest, go wild, lots of trail.
Summary: After reading the great reviews on this site, I was very optimistic about Erindale Park. However, after riding this trail for the first time, in the fall, I’m not very impressed. Now, it was fall weather, and all the trails were covered with leaves. This made navigating a little difficult, even with a map I found on another site. I spent over an hour riding along the main trail, then hunting down tributaries. The single track that clings to the hillside east of the river (between Dundas and Burnhamthorp) is very tight and technical. There are plenty of killer ascents complicated by roots and clay. However, large fallen trees and vines obstructed the trail so much that it ruined any rhythm I could get into. Equally annoying were the countless dead-ends I discovered as I explored, hoping to find some continuous circuits.
With all the positive reviews on this site, there must be some great riding in here somewhere. But I wasn’t able to find it in amongst the fallen leaves.
I’ll try it again in different conditions.

Summary: Excellent off trail riding in the woods. Very...Very slippery when wet. Ther is lot's of clay in the forest and flat rock, so traction is limited after heavy rainfall.....You might find a little blood I left on the rocks ! Lot's of roots, rocks, and 4 streams to cross. The regular walking trails are find if you just want to ride relaxed without a challange. If you really want to challange yourself try the small trails through the woods.
Recommended Route: Park in the upper parking lot, head towards to main buildings, and you will find a double track heading down hill to the left of the main buildings. There will be a double track to your right just after you enter the trail. Follow this down ...watch for hikers and the wood chips...very slippery. When you see the yellow turn styls turn right. Follow trail down hill and watch ffor a well worn single track that leeds to the woods on your right. Follow the trail through the woods....and take your pick of trails. If you want more of a challange follow the trail straight through the woods to the concreet drainage tunnel. Make a left into the tunnel and ride north to the end. Make a right up a steep hill and follow the trail to the left. This will take you to the Mississauga Trials PArk, where you can practice you skills and maybe leave a little blood behind. Be very carefull if you ride this route after the rain....it's all clay and nasty sharp rocks.
It dfoesn't matter how many times you fall you'llstill have a good time. I rode for 3 hrs and didn't come accross the same trail twice. I can't wait to head back once it is dry.

Summary: Everything everyone else said is bang on. Great place to ride especially if you're local. I'm a newb so I use this park to build my legs and skills up.
Recommended Route: Start at Erindale Park ride your way north wherever you like. I'm not sure if there's anything good north of Burnhamthorpe but if you follow the recreational trail to the 403 bridge and make your way up the trail to north side of the 403 you'll ride right into the Ellis Leuschner Challenge park. It's a city built park full of ramps, drops, and some jumps. Great to work on your ramp balance without having to worry about falling into ravines or tree stumps. check it out..

Summary: Its got a small amount of almost everything. Pretty much no downhill section.
Many of the old trails have been slowly wiped-out by erosion mostly, huge fallen trees have ruined most of the single track close to dundas which really made the park a lot worse then it once was when it comes to a longer singletrack.
But recently a little park has popped up, and a few new paths have been made.
For a person living in mississauga its not to be missed, its so close!
