Dale Wood

About a 10-15 KM trail around the lake. Most is a fast non-technical ride but there are some difficult sections. Good for training. Not good for technical development.

Summary:
Dalewood is a great little trail for everyone!!!!! there are high or low road options at many points! it is all single track, and is very rooty! Give it a try!! CAUTION!!!!!! only ride this trail after a rainfall if you are a good bike handler and have disk brakes!!!!!The trail is hard clay that turns into grease and slippery roots when wet!!!Other than that it is a fun, fast,10 km. blast!!!!!
p.s. it's a loop so you come out where you parked!!!

Recommended Route:
401 to Highbury south, just before St.Thomas turn right on O'Neil rd. Follow for about 4 km. Turn left on Dalewood rd.Go about 2-3 km. and Dalwood park is on your left.Pay the $7.00, drive to the pond and ride!

Summary:
As a beginner, I like the trail. The roots can help improve bike control, and the distance allows you to do a loop after work-before supper. I have taken my wife and young kids on this route and they like it , although at a slower pace.

Recommended Route:
As Stated.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The trial out to patterson's is good. As a family we have rode Springwater and Archie Coulter conservation area. These two are no good for older riders but great to get the young kids started. Short and flat!
