Terra Cotta Conservation Area

The park has a few loops that they maintain, and these are easy singletrack rides. Cutting through the park is the Bruce Trail, which is the real reason to ride here ("with explicit permision", of course!) Find the Nature Center (straight in from the road), and around the back there should be a map of sorts. Failing that, just ride. You won't get lost if some sense of direction. If you want more adventure, follow the Bruce Trail out of the park (three trails, and it's a good idea to have the Bruce Trail Handbook with maps) Note: it is probaly best to avoid the oh so perfect weekends when everyone else may be hiking or camping in here. I have never had a problem, but respect the trails, and pay your fee at the front gate...

Trail Directions
Ride (or drive) West (from #10) or East (from Georgetown) along King Street to the T-intersection by the Terra Cotta Inn. Follow the signs up Winston Churchill Road North, and watch on the left for the big sign and the driveway in. If you end up climbing switchbacks to come onto a dirt road you went to far.

Summary:
Lots of variety -service roads, easy singletract hills, and rocks and roots on the Bruce Trail bits. Bonus points for the perfect trials rock by the Nature Center and great photo ops of the shorelines.

Recommended Route:
ride in or find the Bruce trail cut in from the Rail-trail.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The Bruce Trail splits up and goes all over in this area. Ride around on some truly challengin (and fun) singlestract until you have to turn back to go home.
