, from Pickering Summary: The trail is not that long... about 3kms total. However, if you take the trail from the top of Dixie, you can go along the top of the ravine (great views), then straight on. If you go left at the fork, you have some good whoop-dee-do's, or go straight and stop and play at the BMX area (some BMXers have built some nice jumps etc.). Then follow the trail over to the top of the cliff by the powerlines, and there is a cool downhill there... NOT "Kill Hill"... local kids call this "Snake Hill". Get to the bottom and then follow the trail around to the right at the bottom. Follow this and you will come out at the bottom of the Seaton Hiking Trail on Finch and Valley Farm... (see one of the first reviews here about parking on Valley Farm Road). Go about 100yds up Valley Farm, and you can pick up the bottom of the Seaton Trail. Go along here and you can loop back to your car at the bottom of the railroad bridge by crossing the creek just north of the bridge, and then up the hill (killer after the rain, due to poor drainage, you get ruts that are as deep as your rotors!!! - watch it.) Anyways, the loop is about 6 or 7 kms total, with a nice downhill and views at the beginning, some flats and wet in the middle and a big climb at the end. Now that spring is here, time to ride and get rid of the winter fat. Email me if you want a map.... Recommended Route: This is a combined trail... not all is Seaton Hiking Trail. I know some have said it is illegal to bike on Seaton, but there are no signs, and if you are considerate of others, it helps everyone!!!! Pick up the route at the top of Dixie Road... this way, you have a great downhill before the flats in the bottom of the valley. To get to the top of Dixie Road, take 401 east bound to Brock Road, go North to Finch. Turn left and go west on Finch, to Dixie (5th traffic light....) Turn right at the light and go north for about 3kms (top of the hill, past the hydro wires, to the railway tracks). Park at railway tracks.... pick up the trail at the top of the bridge going south. Other recommended trails in the same area: Durham Forest is great, but you have to drive there... this is a lot closer to home!!!!

, from Scarborough Summary: I alternate my starting point everytime I go. Great trails on the middle and south part of the trail. The north part (between Whitevale and HWY 7) will become more of a hiking trail on the west circuit, since it becomes unrideable at a point. The East circuit has an alright technical part. I've done the north part once, and I've avoided going ever since. Great technical on the middle part. Scenic on the south side when you'll hit the look-out point. If you like climbing .. try to reach upland loop on the south side.. If you like running over hikers, great place for it! It's ramped full of hikers on weekends. If you're coming from T.O. and aren't exausted after riding the trails, then go hit the Rouge Valley on the way back BABY!! MAP LOCATED HERE: http://www.hikeontario.com/SeatonTrail/Seaton_Map.html Recommended Route: HWY 2 and then go north on Altona Rd till you hit WHITEVALE for the entrance to the centre of the TRAILS. OR go HWY 401 to Brock Rd. North on Brock until concession 3 and then make a left on Concession 3. BOOM YOUR THERE! Other recommended trails in the same area: GLEN MAJOR, Durham Forest, and the Rouge Valley.

, from scarborough Summary: the section between the dump and the whites/taunton bridge is the best. It seems to have the most for side trails but also has the most people. north of the bridge is also good except a couple impossible ups due to steepness depth and roots. It gets good approaching whitevale tho. the section north of whitevale gets annoying. there is a part along the river which is too choppy and an easy rail-trail higher up both of which lead to a marsh. further north the trail is less well used and is now partly cut off by the 407. Recommended Route: park at heritage school in whitevale and ride south or park at whites/ taunton lot Other recommended trails in the same area: rouge

, from Pickering Summary: The trail is good if you live close I do only a 2 min ride from my house it does get a little boring and hikers are a little anoying when they bring rowdey dogs that like to jump up on you when riding and the owners think it's your fault for riding! I used to ride it aalot it's not technical but some parts you do get stuck in the trail cause you are forced to cross a creek or theres a landslide all in all it's ok. Recommended Route: Back of Pine ridge on liverpool start at the back of school behind the portables Other recommended trails in the same area: Rouge Valley is better but more popluar
