Rouge Park
10 reviews
 4.1 of 5

Mostly flat, but there is a long up hill climb. Many other trails branching off with nice short climbs. You can get a map of the main trails at this site http://www.rougepark.com/4maps.pdf The view is awesome when looking down into the valley. I would suggest riding upto the old garbage dump, that is know a big hill. It's a great workout to climb up it, and a blast to rocket down it! This park is nature at it's best. Hey you may even see a couple making out like I did so bring your binoculars because it was an awesome show, WooHoo!!! Only wish I brought my video camera. So what are you doing still sitting on your ass? Get out there and ride!

Many places to enter the trail system. I guess the main one would be on Highway 2 (Kingston Rd.) just east of Port Union Rd, by the Glen Rouge Camp Grounds.

Summary:
The main trails are not as challenging as the rest, but it's best to
keep it to that section. I've alreasy seen my favourite trails in
Hamilton ON (Cootes Paradise) anandoned due to MTB damage.
Noone can use them anymore now. When the anti-hiker complainers on here start donating $$ to fix
the dirt trail damage we do then they'll have reason to complain. Otherwise put up or shut up. This trail system is great - don't forget to donate!!

Summary:
Nice trails for after work riding if you live i the area. You can set yourself up a nice circuit once you know trails well enough. However if you go across Twin Rivers Road (where bikeres are not allowed), watch out for the hikers because they're getting pissed off at the riders. I got told of a couple of times already, "HEY!!! NO BIKERS ALLOWED HERE YOU ********!!!" Avoid these trails during the weekend mornings and everyday during the afternoons after 5PM to avoid the hikers. Gotta start respecting the bikers too people.

Recommended Route:
All of them
