A nice and easy "urban" trail located between Sackville and Bedford, following the course of the Sackville River. The trail is a nice gravel path and is short enough for beginners to enjoy...starting in Sackville, you will cross the junction of the Little Sackville and main Sackville Rivers, a few bridges, then come to the Bedford Rifle Range, (dating from 1860''s)and travelling in a short tunnel under the 102 highway, proceed along the flood plain eventually coming into Bedford Place Mall. You can then travel along the edge of the river in front of the mall, ending near the mouth of the river which empties in Bedford Basin. Return trip maybe 4 or so kilometers. Watch out for the toads!
Ridden on August 1 2006 and recommended by John Tillmann and Karri Harrington.
Go to Cobequid Road in Sackville, then take the Old Sackville Road for only about half a kilometer, then hang a left on the gravel path, which runs along the Sackville river.
