Tillmann Brook

A nice demanding trail if you lots of ups and downs and loads of wildlife. Be prepared to see the following for certain, beaver dams and lodges on Tillmann Brook. If you are lucky you'll catch some sign of bears, deer, coyotes and bobcats, along with the usual amount of our feathered friends as well. The trail starts off easy, but gradually turns in to a nightmare or exciting adventure, depending upon your sporting instincts. If your a sissy or just like cruising along without a nice challenge, then stop at about 2 miles and call it a day. If you like a challenge combined with a decent workout, then fasten down the holds and go to the end. Lots of little gullies and cliffs, a swamp or two, with giant boulders to add, and just to add a little spice to the adventure, be prepared for finishing off in a well known bear feeding area. Return trip a liitle longer it seems...always looking back over your shoulder...wonder why that is?
Get to the village of Fall River and take the #118 connector behind the PetroCan gas station, and then turn left on Old Guysborough Road. Proceed straight under the overpass and continue on until the pavement ends and you hit dirt. Then travel another 1 kilometer on the dirt road until you see a small dirt road on the right with a locked gate across it. You are almost there now! Go around the gate -- if your biking or walking --otherwise leave your vehicle here. Continue on this road until you cross Tillmann Brook and beware at spring and fall run-offs, the road has been known to wash away. While back there in November 2002, Kyle Tillmann, John Tillmann and Georges Lamoreaux saw first-hand the power of the brook, with pieces of the road being totally gone. Proceed just a few meters more and come to the concrete Dam at Soldier Lake where the Brook begins. Turn right and bike across the top of the dam and follow the jagged little trail for as long as you can.
Summary: kinda hard to find was rough with lots of jagged rocks.broke a couple of spokes on em. lost the end of the trail cause it was all overgrown with brush.
