Sugarloaf

Very long steep and technical climbs, mostly single track in the woods with several long double track sections. Several very challenging steep, loose gravel descents. Also some very fast sections (~70km/h) and slow technical descents as well. World class twisty downhill on a very narrow and grippy singletrack trail, guaranteed to get the adrenalin going.

Ridden Once

Reviewed by: Cory & Wong , from Amsterdam

Summary:
At the beginning it is veyr washed out and most of it is walked. But when you get out of the narrow washed out part at the beginning it opens up and it's a good clime followed by some quad burning uphill. followed by a a cross country field for a bit and then a nice cruise downhill to another extremely quad burning uphill section. Then a very nice downhill that can be taken fast or slow depeding ont he rider and conditions. very close to trees, but that makes it interesting and there are very many different trails that are possible.

Recommended Route:
From the blue house go all the way to to the field at the top and bike along the side of it to the corner and then take the path to the left.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
not much but the bird sanctuary is a nice cruise to take to town and to the trail beats the highway.

Summary:
This trail is challenging enough for anyone and hardly anyone but antigonishers and StFX students know about it. this one is worth the trip from halifax.

Recommended Route:
Start at the backside of the trail in fairmont at the springrain factory and head over the top, cutting back through to the trail closest to the hospital.
