, from Halifax N.S. Canada Summary: These loops are hard trails for beginners, a good place to learn, and you can't get lost for long. I ride this area several time a week and rairly see anyone. Recommended Route: Go up Main ave.(this is Geasers hill) you can turn right at the bottom of the hill on to the the power line trail, which will eventualy take you to the Karney Lake rd.(easy) If you take the next right, the road will y and both will end up behind the ball field in the Commons. If you stay to the right path look closely to the right and there will be a tight single track that goes up a hill, this will take you to an open area with Granet out crops, here you will find many different routes to explore. Taking left turns will take you to the radio towers at the top of the hill behind the driving range. Another fun loop is at the top of the hill. Just before the driving range parking lot, is a trail to the left, in the woods. This is a good loop. I generaly take the first left on the trail and go down the hill to the bottom (a left turn at the bottom will take you out to Main ave.) a right will take you to the trail back up the hill. If it is wet turn right at the end of this trail and you can ride a service road up the hill. At he top you will cut back in to the woods. Climb up on to a huge rock used buy party'rs (lots of glass) on the other side of this, the trail will take you back to the start. Another route, pass the driving range on Main ave. go passed the gate the two roads to the right will take you to the towers I spoke of, the trail straight ahead will go to the open area,(if you take a hard right at the bottom of a steep short hill). The trail to the left y's, the next left goes to the hwy rear the Price Club (could be a wet mucky ride). The trail straight or to the left will take you to an old cement building I believe was the transmitter for the first over-seas radio broad casts. Past this the road will take you back out to the driving range if you run in to a swampy area go back a bit and take a short cut threw the woods to a water line service road turn left back to the driving range. Other recommended trails in the same area: I enjoy doing a loop or two here, then ride the power line trail to Hemlock Ravine. Down the ravine it self then back up into the park for a loop, and home. Its about 20K. or so, under 2hrs.

, from halifax Summary: a good warm up not too far from wrandees. Development has already shortened up the area, enjoy it while it lasts. There are a few technical areas but for the most part this trail system is fun, fast and gets the adrenaline flowing. Recommended Route: enter from main st. across from nine hole parking lot follow whatever route feels right. Other recommended trails in the same area: wrandess(heavy use), 103 highway @ exit 5

, from Halifax Summary: trail is a lot of fun, nice and close to town so you can quickly jump on your bike after work or school. Usually some pretty muddy part. Watch out for glass, old cars and abandonned buildings (only one that I've seen) Recommended Route: same as above

, from Halifax, Nova Scotia Summary: I wouldn't call this trail advanced, but it is a lot of fun. I took a beginner in there, and she didn't fare out bad at all. As described, there are lots of branch trails. The trail is pretty narrow, and lots of fun. I always enjoy the field with the radio towers. This part of the city isn't bad in the winter too. It's not an epic ride, but it's fun. For a great warm up into it, ride up Flamingo Dr from the Bedford Highway, then find the trail system. Recommended Route: As described. Other recommended trails in the same area: A very short one between MSVU and Lacewood. Lots of stuff around the Hammond's Plains exit on the #102. Many other trails in Hfx.

, from Halifax Summary: Great ride, not to technical for the pure beginner but some advanced spots. The length depends on how much time you have, lots of branch trails that you can ride. Recommended Route: Keep going up the hill and pass the driving range. Take the road on the right, keep a eye out to the left for a path. The tail continues pass the water hole. befor you get back to the tower there is another path on the left that leads out to behind home depot. This area is developing quickly. Lots of other trails in the area.
