Downhiller Summary: This trail is a trail which I don't like very much at all. This trail is very boring theres really only two OK parts. The first is the big bog another is the rocky downhill part at the end just before you enter Petty Harbour. This trial is all a big road and it's all up's and down's. I would recomend this trail for someone who loves cross-country and I fell when i'm riding this trail I jsut want to reach th end. Recommended Route: You go up the road by killbride and keep takeing it up to the top and there is a parking lot just follow the road past it. Other recommended trails in the same area: kenmount hill, white hills

Ridden Trail: Every few months

, from St. John's Summary: A crazy downhill ride. Rocky. Fast. No ramps, jumps or drops. The return uphill climb is painful but a great training exercise. I did a lot of superman-style dismounts over the handlebars of my bike on both the way down and the way back up. I'm only giving this a three for a few reasons: it's an out-and-back trail and I'm partial to circuits, there are too many hikers to be able to let loose and go all-out most of the time, and that uphill return climb is just torturous at times. All in all it's a ride that everybody should do once. (And maybe only once). Recommended Route: Head south from St. John's through Shea Heights. A couple of km past Shea Heights the Freshwater Bay trail parking lot is on the left with the trail leading down from there. It's an easy-to-follow out-and-back trail down to the bay. Watch for hikers as this trail is mostly used by them. Other recommended trails in the same area: Torbay-to-Flatrock. White Hills.
