Chickadee & Private
3 reviews
 1.67 of 5

Twisty single track that winds through the bush. The trail has some dips and obstacles you can bunny hop or get off and walk. The trail changes directions all the time due to trees and large branches that fall during wind storms. The ground is harpack clay. Halfway through the Chickadee trail there is another trail. You can go on this trail but it is not used as much as the other but is quite challenging with more trees and obstacles to manouver over.

Birds Hill Park has great mountain biking trails, plus, its just a few miles away. These trails are way better, some grass, some mud, and some paved (for the wusses!) Go Here!

selkirk pits, off of mcPhillips highway, you can see paths in the ditches, also a visible bridge that we constructed last year, we will be building more obstacles this spring so come down and check it out. we are also looking to host some races this year

Ridden Trail:
Once a week

Summary:
It has lots of twists & turns. There are trees lying in the path, but makes it very challenging. The rain also makes things interesting, the clay gets really slick. If you pick up your speed you can really dice it up but watch for the standing trees and other riders. The plants in this area are ferns & other misc. plants that grow to about waist height. The scenery is gorgeous because you ride close to the river. You also see deer and foxes in this area. When you enter this trail system it is a complete canopy, letting in light only in certain spots, feels like your in a jungle.

Recommended Route:
If you are a casual rider just follow the trail that has been cut by the brush cutter. If you want a little more milage and obstacles follow the trail that is marked private trail.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
I met up with a local rider (Rob) and told me that they have staked out other routes in this area. But will not be riding them until the fall (Late August). He has indicated to me that more advanced riding skills will be required on the new section due to the larger obstacles and jumps. I am looking forward to the new trails.
