Ridden Trail: Every few months

Weekend Warrior Summary: I have only ever ridden up this trail as I have always decended the escarpment on the JET or Packhorse trails. It is not too technical but a tough steep climb to give your legs and lungs a workout. It would probably be fast to descend compared to JET due to less shale, hoof marks, and run-off scars. Recommended Route: Parking lot at top or bottom of escarpment off highway #19. Other recommended trails in the same area: Gorge Creek

Cross Country Rider Summary: One big dowhill, about 50 min., then you come back up, about 2+ hrs. Recommended Route: Well marked. Follow the signs. Kind of boring, not much variety but a heck of a good workout coming back up. Muddy parts but it's mtb after all. We started going down then came back up. Top part of Bald Hill trail was in a serious need of grooming on day of our ride. Some parts had no real singletrack and you're going through very overgrown areas. Other recommended trails in the same area: Do the Clear Lake loop, about 30 km. The North Shore is really interesting, lots of ups and downs, tight singletrack with a beautiful of the lake most of the time. Trail well cut, some mud and roots. Good for intermediate + riders.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Well this trail is very scenic. Just make sure you have a car waiting for you at the bottom unless you want a long hard ride back up. I've gone down the J.E.T trail and trekked up this trail. Very hard, but it was worth it. Make sure you bring lots of water...I ran out of water in my 2L camelbak on the way back up. That made for a much harder ride then it should have been. Definitely one of my favourite places to ride in Manitoba. Other recommended trails in the same area: J.E.T, basically everything on the North Escarpment. There's a really nice campsite at the top of this trail, highly recommended.

Cross Country Rider
, from brandon manitoba canada Summary: The Bald Hill trail is a fairly hard trail. My friend and i thought the whole trail was downhill, yes, there is some pretty awesome descents, but there are also some pretty hard climbs where you would have no choice to dismount. The park made this trail for hikers, so there are many stairs, going up and down along the way. Depending on your skill level, you will probably have to get off and lift your bike to get down or up them. This can cause some great frustration, as I learned the first few times i went on it, but you will sonn get better. At the start there are some very boring moments on the trail. Some hard climbs make you think to yourself what you have gotten yourself into, but right at the end of the trail you are rewarded with your patience. The downhill is amazing, my favorite part is when you go down a steep hill, jump some stairs and then jump a buckled bridge. The trail is very scenic, the best part is "a tree of walls" which make you pull out your camera for a picture. Recommended Route: Take #10 highway into the lake, and turn east onto highway 19(a gravel road). go down the gravel raod until you are there. Other recommended trails in the same area: J.E.T.
