Cross Country Rider Summary: These trails are beautiful considering they are in the City of Winnipeg. Well maintained and easily assessed I recommend them for both young and old. The trail touches on a natural duck pond santuary, and has a lot of wild-life to see. Deer, ducks, and various bird species are but a few. Pack a lunch and bring your children you will really enjoy it. Recommended Route: West on Grant Ave from Kenaston, just past Canadian Mennonite University. There is parking on the left. The park has a big sign at the openning. Other recommended trails in the same area: Assiniboine Park.

, from The Peg Summary: The monkey trails are pretty good along the south river bank. Last year I started to ride more in the forrest south of Grant Ave. There are some paved trails, but also some rough trails - no pavement, gravel or woodchips, just clearcut. I plan on checking it out some more this year. Bring your bug repellant! Recommended Route: Assiniboine Park & Forrest Other recommended trails in the same area: Wolseley, north of the river. The forks, heading north to Alexander Docks, and south to Churchill Dr and BDI.

, from Winnipeg Summary: Very bumpy, with soggy wood chips, decomposing. Gives your legs a great workout! Head south until you cross a ditch(very muddy at the best of times) and connect to the Harte trail. Usually dry even after a rain. Here you can build good speed, I someitme shit 35 km/h. Be aware of road crossings and idiot dirt bikers!! Recommended Route: Start at the parking lot for Assiniboine Forest. Head onto paved section, the move onto wood chip , then muddy soggy areas.

, from winnipeg Summary: several km's of trails, better known as "monkey trails" by winnipegers. Some actually fairly technical parts, but a relatively easy ride. A few jumps and obstacles. Fun to ride at high speeds with some friends. Disadvantages include muddiness if it's rained in the last week, and full of kids and families on the weekends. Anyone can manage these trails, but they can be fun even for experienced riders. Recommended Route: all along the assiniboine river, start in assiniboine park in behind the pavilion Other recommended trails in the same area: la barrier park has a decent trail

, from Victoria, BC Summary: ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz....I don't feel so bad that I forgot to bring my fullface helmet this trip out... But, if you have a few buddies who are fast, it is a fun ride to race them for a mile or two during lunch time when the government workers are meandering...:)
Recommended Route: Anywhere along the Assiniboine. Add a bit of challenge by riding along the railing of that bridge by the hospital where it is one-way for cars... Other recommended trails in the same area: Nope.
