Singletrack, rolling, some quite technical sections that are difficult for most, relentless.

Summary:
When I first heard that the pan am games biking was held here I was expecting alot but when I got there it doesn't strike you as very much considering its just on some farmers property but never judge a book by its cover once you start riding you besta stay alert as you will come across some awsome downhills that come outta no where at a couple times reaching speeds of about 80km/h is pretty common, every thing is kinda confusing trails over laping and starting outta no where I didn't know the area to well at first but getting accoustomed to all of this. The better the bike you have here the more plentiful your options are and the more fun you'll have I personhally would not want to be there on a crappy bike or without some sorta suspension. all in all if you ride get out there you'll be happy you did I could spend every week-end there if it wasn't so far away.

Recommended Route:
You should do it all even Louis leap, its all good there ecspecailly if your used to flat Manitoba riding this place is a delight.

Summary:
Louis Leap is a must when you visit Ski Birch. A snaking switchback with a long smooth tail into the valley is a great challenge with really sharp turns and a couple of good drops, making it worth while.

Recommended Route:
Leave the main parking lot and head into the valley along the south (left) side of the gravel road. There are two switchbacks which join up with the road and then about 100m down the hill there is a steep grade to the left called the double camel. A good way to get warmed up! After your ready to go hard, follow the road to a small creek which should be labelled as Honky tonk. CAUTION cows sometimes in the area. Follow the creek until you reach a sandy incline on the right. At the top you can have a nice rolling ride for a half a mile or so to get prepared for the tretcherous north side. Starting off with a weaving accent you reach the top of the hill where it's a great singletrack for a good distance. Keep your head up cause there are lots of low limbs and even some tricky stumps and roots. Then you climb back up the far side and cruise along a wheat feild for a good run reaching speeds of about 40 mph. Hanging a sharp right at the end of the hill climb a small truck trail which has signs leading you to Kurt's Crater a good singletrack as well. Follow the trail back up the east side of the valley bringing you past a few cabins back to the parking lot. A great ride which can take up to an hour or more depending how hard you choose to ride.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
There are off shoots all over the place so if you get a good bearing on where you enter the valley you can always find your way back to the road or parking lot.
