, from winnipeg Summary: Caribou Lake is a good camp site. Mostly small peninsulas. Good for beginners as it's a short hike and an out house was added last year (1999). Trail was different this year. Parks & Rec advisory said "wet but passible". It was passible... if you consider hiking in chest deep water with your packs over your heads passible. still fun though. Entrance advises that the trail is only for advanced hikers but we always see families doing day hikes on it and I didn't find it that challenging even with the packs. it is long though but most people only hike to the first or second site and then hike back. Canoe route is also available. Recommended Route: north entrance. short hike to first camp site (Caribou Lake).
