La Barrier Park Trail

Nice single-track following the Seine River. Got a good decesent/climb about 15-20 ft. to get your legs working. The rest is small-meduim jumps and bumps. The trail will almost take you to Pembina Hwy! Meduim wooded area so if you ride in the summer wear gloves because some branches will cut your hands.

Ridden Trail:
Once a month

Summary:
Well posted for easy navigation however in the spring, this area can be underwater and not accessible. It would be strongly advised to check at the City of Winnipeg - Parks & Rec. to make sure the trail is passable. Also it would be adviseable to avoid this trail during the weekend. It can be extremely busy and is also heavily used by horses which makes the trail very mucky. It is a beautiful trek, tho, and worth taking an hour out of the evening for a quick bike.

Recommended Route:
Do the Camp Amisk side as it is the one that is quite nice. Also a good XCountry Ski Trail in Winter.

Summary:
Not to be confused with the trails inside of Labarriere park which are short, flat, and non-technical; this trail starts at the Camp Amisk gate and follows the Seine River East. It's a fun ride, with some dips and small climbs, and can sometimes be muddy. It gets more gnarly as you get close to Pembina Hwy. Watch out for private property towards the end of the trail - I got chased by a dog once. If you turn inland at this point you can make your way to Pembina and maybe boot over to the floodway for a break. It's a good way to spend an hour.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The trails inside of the park, across the footbridge, are a good warm-up for the Camp Amisk trail. Can get crowded on weekends with other bikers, families, old ladies with walkers, etc. Keep two fingers on your brakes if you're going fast.
