Falcon Lake Ski Resort

This is a really fun trail. Good strong uphill, and fast downhill. The downhills are not cut, and the grass is really tall, so be carefull! It also has some technical riding, theres a place on the trail called Granite Pass, its a quick single track with alot of rocks and logs, really fun!
Last year there was a race held there so the trail should be good this year, more people should be riding it!
Go to Falcon Lake, in the Whiteshell, and follow the road on your right as you enter the town. Follow it to the very end. There you will find the Ski Resort.
Summary: Though I grew up in nearby Winnipeg before they were called mountain bikes, I'm spoiled now and have ridden many of the best trails in North America. I came back through the area in August and really enjoyed these trails as they had everything you need: challenging sections, a good workout, pretty views and fun! We did a couple thousand verticle feet of climbing (600m) in a couple hours - pretty darn good for this close to the praries.

Summary: Don't even bother with the races. The go no where that's good. All you do in a race is ride around the ski hill. There's some insane technical riding to be found at the ski hill. The downhill's aren't bad, there's a good roller to pop off of that I'm going to build a kicker on soon so stay tuned.
Recommended Route: I think you guys need to ride more. There's six or seven different trails and more if you include the cross country ski trails. The best route it from the bottom, up to the t-bar, then up smokey, then a warm-up on the cliff trail, followed by the singletrack to mogul, down the weak-ass switchbacks, then over to Sunshine, up to the top, then cut off to the White Pine lookout, ride the newly cut orange and pink trails, then over to the ramps. The cliff is a very rocky, rooty technical trail, sunshine is fast rolling dirt, and the new trails are amazing. Very rough and technical with lots of stuff to hop. Be sure to take the eight foot drop from the orange to pink.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Everything. the stables, pipline, toniata, and Ingolf, mountain biking heaven. Oh yeah, and buddy, Roseisle is a 4 hour drive from falcon. definately not in the same area.

Ridden Trail: Once a year

Summary: Originally raised in Winnipeg, I have been fortunate to have a family cottage at Falcon where I can migrate to every year. I rode this track during a race last summer and found it to be challenging being my first race ever (and it showed). It has some heart-pumping uphill and some quick downhill. Technically, it doesn't compare to the trails I ride in North Vancouver, but I still found it fast, fun, and recommend it to anyone in the prairie region looking to find something that resembles "mountain biking."
