The first part is twisty turny technical singletrack for about 4-5km. The rest of the trail is rolling singletrack. It is all hardpacked, except in early Spring. Easy access from numerous points.

Summary:
Wide trail, but singletrack path in the centre. Very easy, nothing really technical, but a good spin nonetheless. My wife enjoys it, and I like it for the 12km or so it lasts.

Recommended Route:
Only one way to ride, that's counter clock-wise. Pick out a few other trails in the area to extend the ride.

Summary:
Rolling singletrack with very few obstacles and not technical at all. Great cardio ride though. You can link up several trails in Bird's Hill but be careful of the horses only trails.

Recommended Route:
From the Ranch, head down the paved trail. Turn right on the first singletrack you see and follow it all the way. Well marked.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
You can also ride Hillside which is just outside the park to the North. Olympia Cycles maintains this trail I think and they do a great job. Short, sandy, but fun. You can also ride along the hydro lines and get to Springhill, but I haven't found out where to do this.

Summary:
Definitely a trail for the more novice rider. The technical stuff doesn't come at you fast, but there are suprises, like climbs around hairpin turns. This trail will test a novice, and be a nice fast spin for the more advanced. The trail is all singletrack, hardpack, well marked. The nice part is that there is very little trail traffic. Best time to ride is in the early morning or the evening, when the parks wildlife is out and roaming. My rating of the trail is based on how well it fits a novice, and how tranquil the ride is.

Recommended Route:
Starting from the Chickadee Trailhead you can go either East for the more technical side of the trail, or West for the fast rolling section of the trail.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The Apsen Trail is a new loop, half the length, that has yet to have enough traffic to pack it down.
