White Lake DH

Average Rating:    (4.5 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 2

The White Lake trail offers a tough climb followed by a totally fun downhill. The 1km climb from the FSR is a grunt but worth it when you start going down. The downhill portion of the trail is a narrow twisty semi-technical trail, with some fast sections near the bottom.

Take the Trans Canada West from Salmon Arm until you reach White Lake Road. Turn right and follow until you reach White Lake. The road turns right, following the lake. A parking area shows up about 500m to your right across from the church. Park here and ride back to the Little White Lake FSR you passed on your way to park. Follow the FSR up to the 2.5km range where the road Y's. Take the right turn and follow foraround 0.8km. An old fire road turns up to your right. Follow up to the tower at the top of the hill. The trailhead drops off the open area around the tower to your left. Its the only trail around. Follow down to the church parking lot, where you parked.

Summary:
The ride up is worth the ride down. Remember this as your climbing. The downhill is sustained fun!!!. I would call the trail intermediate as I have not ridden that much (less than 2 years) and I can ride the 99% of this trail on my old hard-tail. It keeps your attention the hole time down. Lot's of nice views of White Lake if you take the time to look.

Recommended Route:
As described above. The fire road is narrow and easily missed. It is a steep ride/walk to the tower.

Adams River Trail, Prudential
