THE VEIN

Average Rating:    (5 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 2

4600 Meters. The vein has it all--the worst climb to the top imaginable. Then the best downhill descent you could ever imagine. Technical Climbing, rolling single track, teeter-totters, log bridges, step step drops, and wheelie drops. The best trail in Nelson next to possibly Paper Bag. After you finish riding it you will be ready for any downhill trail in the world!

Once a year

Summary:
Awesome mix of old and new school. Some would say it could use a few more launches but really it's about flow. Long climb, be patient and take it easy. Save some for the decent which is unrelentingly steep and fast. One of Nelsons best and that's saying a lot.

Summary:
The Vein is a steep old-school trail with the odd log ride , ramp-jump , teeter-toter thrown in . Since all of these stunts can be easily ridden around , it is the perfect trail for the intermediate to advanced rider . Just be certain that you are comfortable riding steep , ass behind the seat tails . Disc brakes are highly recommended . If you want more ramp-jumps , slick-rock , super-steep drop-ins , & log-rides check out Bedframe .
For trail maps , specific directions , bike parts , ect. , check out THE SACRED RIDE bike shop in Nelson . They gave us great info on what trails to ride ( & trail decriptions ) & where to camp . When we were there , during the 1st week in June , they carried Rocky Mountain , Santa Cruz , Brodie , Marin , & Divinci .

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Bedframe , Paperbag
