Randys and BA Trail

Average Rating:    (4.6 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 5

Starts off with short single track, make sure you keep left, or you ride a very boring rocky creek bed. Lots of little airs, some nutty stunts. Now, you hit an access road, go left 10 feet. here is BA trail. Mini-North Shore. Log rides, wheelie drops, A-Frames, t- Totters, go get em. After Ewok village, go right, cross shitty bridge, up short hill, the go left on fun downhill, if you are still in one piece, and can see through the tears in your eyes...

Summary:
Great trail to learn North Shore riding before actually hitting the north shore. Has a taste of everything. Too bad it's being torn down as of November 15/00, as indicated by pink signs posted in several spots along the trail. Enjoy it while you can!

Recommended Route:
Hang a left at the highest power line tower along the fire road.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Decapitator, 4 lost souls, academy, Fat bastard

Summary:
This was a great trail! Two Thumbs-Up to the builders who have done an excellent job at making structurally sound obstacles. This was my second shot at serious bridge riding (my first time being the day before on 'The Shore').I now know why so many mainlanders opt to ride flat pedals, I didn't feel super comfortable being clipped in when I was like ten feet up! I look forward to riding this trail again (I need to redeem myself for avoiding the teeter-totter on the log) this summer when it isn't so damn wet!!

Recommended Route:
I rode the bottom of Randy's and then went into the B&A Trail. At the bottom I rode the Ewok Village and then came out at a School that was being built.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The day before I rode some trails on the 'Shore' (one was Pinkstarfish, another was Digger, and the other I don't recall)and I enjoyed this trail much more. I don't think the North Shore trails (that I rode) were any more challenging or cooler than this one. I do think that the local riders at B&A put more care into maintaining their trails and therefore the experiance was more enjoyable. Build it, Ride it, Fix it.

Summary:
Note to self: Do not build a trail in a flat, low lying area as trail will turn into a swamp. It is a start at bringing North Shore style trails to Coquitlam.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Want to see a real Ewok village, ride the Woodlot in Whonnock.
