Yup, its the shit alright! Plenty of choices here, very unlikely to find any other mountain bikers in the area, so enjoy! Gonzo track for the downhill fiend, how big are your balls? None of this girly North Shore/Red Bull Ride walking pace trials/drop-off crap...i'm talking speed with a capital S and jumps with a capital J, pussies need not apply. Unfortuantely free-riders will find it difficult and illegal to blaze trails through the rainforest, but the gonzo downhill should suffice. Of course there is much to appease the xc crew, climbs of 1 to 3 hour duration, very technical, very steep, very picturesque. The downhills vary from rocky to soft loam, to soft leaf littered hard packed clay to gravel and are very fast in places. I imagine mountain biking is at the same stage surfing was 20 years ago..back then there were perfect uncrowded waves waiting to be discovered everywhere...if you think i am going to divulge important info like the exact location of this place, youve got to be kidding. I just hope there are many similar beautiful places around the world, largely untouched and unregulated. As much as i want to share this with everyone, i dont want to see it spoilt...anyone with imagination will find it though!
Buy a slab of Coopers, meander through the cow country, camp by the river under the rainforest trees, ride uphill for an hour or so, perspire, ride down very fast, taking care not to 'come-a-gutsa', swim in the river, smoke a bowl...
