Goose creek upper section

Average Rating:    (5 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 1

Fairly flowing singletrack with a couple small drops. Some exposed bedrock. Cross counry riding. The start of the trail is not very well marked but if you look closely you will see it. It drops down onto the middle section of the trail about 200m from the mid section trailhead.

Trail Directions
Head up the Pass creek road about 15 km out of Castlegar then turn up Goose sreek road. At the end of the asphalt there is a bridge and it turns into Goose and Gander creek forest service road. The bridge marks KM 0. If you are car dropping the upper and lower section leave a truck here. Drive up to the 4 km marker. If you are only riding the upper section leave a truck at the switchback at the 4 km mark. Or park and ride from here if you want to get some exersize climbing. About 1 km up the road (and it is up) it will level out. Enjoy the flat part. While on the flat you will come to an intersection, take the left fork. There is a "Use trail at own risk" sign that has a snowmobile picture on it. Climb up past a "children playing" sign, past a sign that says "cabin" with an arrow, stay on the main road. About another KM max and you will pass a road that takes off to the left, a short little hill past that road there is a with a wide spot. The trail starts here to the climbers left.

did this trail (upper and lower) this summer...very fun and beautiful. Definately will be back for more. Giving it a 5 for the mossy rocks and the natural rock bridge lower down - gorgeous trail

Recommended Route:
an alternative route is to do a shuttle from New Settlement. Park there, drive up to the lower trailhead, bike up to the upper trailhead, then head all the way down past the clearcut onto the atv trail - instead of turning right, go left which will take you through New Settlement and to the parking lot near Pass Creek road.
