Network of trails, ranging from begginer to expert. This is a loop trail that basically can go in a figure 8. Fast hard and dry, while wet and muddy in others, rock drops, creek crossings, and shale beds as well as some fairly chalenging climbs make this one hell of a trail. The down hill is fairly fast, no dismounts required, but watch out for tight rocks that will bounce you around like a pinball. Keep the rubber side down

Summary:
Great loop. Some technical sections on the climb that are fun with AMAZING views of Okanagan lake. It's a short trail, can be done in 45 minutes if you park at the ostrich farm and 1.5 hours if you ride from town. I lived in Penticton for about a year and rode this trail once a week. It's so hot in Penticton, this is a great trail when you have to wait until 9:00 at night for it to cool down. Never got sick of that downhill....fast with 2 great little high speed airs. I miss that trail. There are some sections that bounce you around pretty good and the terrain varies from deep sand at high speed, to burly rocks when it's a low speed climb. Not for rank beginners.

Recommended Route:
go up the road for the first bit, then veer left at the first singletrack, there's really only 2 places to bust right that I ever found that are good, pass the first unless you want a really quick ride.

TURN LEFT AT THE TOP & YOU ARE ON FRED. WONDERFULL CONSISTENT CLIMB WITH SPECTACULAR VIEWS. LOTS OF LOGS AND A NICE WALL DROP. CONTINUE THE LOOP (TOP OF FIGURE EIGHT) FOR FAST SINGLETRACK. WHEN YOU GET BACK TO THE TOP OF THE LEDGES GO BACK UP TURNBALL LOOP BUT TURN RIGHT TO CROSS THE CREEK. ADDS EXTRA TIME TO THE RIDE AND IS A GREAT DESCENT. WATCH FOR SNAKES!

Summary:
If you like big ring single track then look no further. Classic BC interior stuff and for a few moments I swore I was in So Cal. Show up in reasonable shape and a couple laps can be rattled off pretty fast on an XC bike. Don't forget your Agua...

Recommended Route:
Like they say, up Riddle Rd and through the gate. Be nice to all adjoining the landowners huh? ie: Don't pee in their yard and don't try and take down the Ostrich for your post ride BBQ...

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The landowner who is gracious enough to let us ride there wouldn't be happy if his land got really churned up would he?
