Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Cross Country Rider Summary: Huge climb followed by a perfect downhill! One of the best rides I have ever done anywhere! Epic sums it up. Recommended Route: If you have a shuttle, drive one vehicle up from New Denver to the turnoff for Sandon and ride from there. Riding from Sandon is pretty much straight up hill of the bat, so the warmup from the pavement is nice. I guess you could shuttle to the top of the peak, but I figure pedals are put on bikes for a reason. The final 1 km of singletrack to the fire lookout summit is signed no bicycling, so you should politely push your back past the hikers. Don't let access become an issue here.
There are several options for descending once you get into the lower network of trails, so it is best to have a map available from Valhalla Pure in New Denver or go with a local. There are also shorter options that don't go all the way to the summit - again the bike map is the best source of info for these. Other recommended trails in the same area: Wakefield Trail
