Summary:
The trails in Terwilligar park can be quite challenging. If you are 11 years old. And riding an 80 pound Canadian Tire bike. And you are blind, and obiese.

In truth, Terwilligar park is a great place for all you Enduro-XC nuts to whip out your superlight, short travel e-xc bikes and crank around at 40km/h. If you are looking for any hard technical, or good killer downhill with drops/jumps, then this is the WRONG PLACE TO GO.

Recommended Route:
road routes listed above to get there on bike: A) doubletrack behind Fort Edmonton Park B) up Whitemud Drive (past some billion dollar homes, real tuff climb) C) at the top, follow the signs.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Mill Creek ravine has some killer stuff, hit the Leg grounds downtown for some fun urban and a little bit of huckage.

Summary:
Awesome riding!! All skill levels can have a good time. There are races held here every once in a while and also at Sunridge. IT's the first place I did mountain biking at and I'm still finding new trails and challenging myself with different drops. I recommend the Golf run which runs by the golf course: it's long, not too challenging but you can get tons of speed. My speed on this trail was clocked at 51.2 km/h! Beat that!

Recommended Route:
Rabbit Hill Road

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The River Valley is full of trails!!

The Golf Run? The only courses I can think of are miles away to the south! River Ridge is south of the bridges for Ter Drive....... Are there good trails that extend that far?

Summary:
The best riding in Edmonton and area. There are many little pockets of offroad trails in the river valley but there are just endless networks of trails in Terwillegar. It has everything for all skill levels except for the really hardcore people who like dropping seven stories into alligator pits. Great for introducing someone to off road riding since the off road trails are usually connected to the main gravel trails. I've gone 10+ times in the last two months and still keep finding new trails. The variety is just great. The dogs and hikers aren't usually a problem since they stay neat the main trails and rarely stray deep into the forest. It's so close, it's a great way to spend a couple hours after work.

Recommended Route:
Whitemud, then onto Terwillegar drive, turn right at rabbithill road and you're there.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The rest of the River Valley.

Summary:
Two of my favorite trails in this park are the Fireman's trail and the Solicitor General run. The first is apparently not legally in the park as they cut it out of Muddpuppy a few years back. It starts at the top of the fire road leading into the park up from Riverbend. The second is a really fast downhill leading out of the park, you end up in farmland by Ellerslie. Super fast, could make more a super nasty crash coming around some of those blind corners.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
the loop at Smith Crossing (Blue Bridge) - and the secret trail...

Summary:
pretty simple stuff, it makes for a fun afternoon ride. little climbing, you can mix and match trails in the lower areas, where they are networked.
it is also an off leash area for dogs so watch out you don't kill a poodle.

Recommended Route:
ride through riverbend, and you'll find it

Other recommended trails in the same area:
all along the river valley
