Ridden Trail:
Once a year

Summary:
As noted by previous reviewers, this trail is still pretty easy for the first few km's as it is wide enough for two bikes to go side by side, but once you get to the single track then it becomes pretty tough. I have yet to get all the way to the lake as the rootyness (I don't mind that), and the deadfall make it pretty rough. Last time we went, we said once we hit 30 down trees we turn back, it didn't take long.
I would rate the first part of the trail as beginner/intermediate and if you want to continue to the end, then that is expert.

Recommended Route:
There is only one way down the trail.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Valley of the 5 lakes, trail 7, and any of the trails around Jasper.

Summary:
YES, the trail does get rooty and rocky. YES, this makes it challenging. YES, there are more enjoyable trails in the Jasper area. NO, a single tire is not a fair rating. I rode this trail on my old Trek 970 which has no suspension and cleaned it. Anyone with decent technique and determination can clean it or come close to cleaning it.

Recommended Route:
Per description provided. Out and back. Excellent trail descriptions in book "Backcountry Biking in the Canadian Rockies" by Doug Eastcott. Do yourself a favor and spend the $20 for this book.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Cardinal River, Fiddle Pass, Rocky River (tough, long and great), Overlander, Valley of 5 Lakes, Mina & Riley Lakes, 20 Mile Circle (with side trips to Saturday Night Lake or Minnow Lake).

Summary:
The first few Km are an easy spin. Once the single track starts be ready to ride. It is an advanced level trail with lots of bumps and technical stuff. In six tries I have ridden it clean twice (three times with a trailer though BOB is awsome) This is not a trail for the faint of heart or the rec. rider only if you are a little sadistic

Recommended Route:
Out and back - past Jaque lake it gets toooooo muddy to ride... unless it dried out. The turn off to the highway is full of deadfall and is hike-a-bike

Summary:
Well lets see from the parkinglot (if you are interested you will know which one) first 5 k is o.k. just warming up, nice scenery... After that it is NOT nice at all. Just ditch the bike and start walking, now there is a good idea..ROOTY... too rooty to bike, but it is a nice walk. We biked/pushed up to the lake, it is a very nice lake but we were too annoyed that the route was not that fun biking to enjoy it.
Hike up there and camp in the backcountry that will be my advice.
You stand a fair chace to see some moose and grizzly if you can look throug zillions of mosquitos

Recommended Route:
I cannot in all honesty recommend this one....

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Well they are closing most interesting ones, in their infinite wisdom they seem to think horses do less damage than mountainbikes....YEAH RIGHT
