creepy cabin trail

Average Rating:    (3.5 of 5)

not a long trail, but pretty fun, starts on top of the river valley, and goes all the way down to the river. If you keep going the trail starts to climb again, then you come to a "creepy cabin" like in the movies, turn around and do it all over again. Has lots of roots, rocks. can get technical, but all around fun

Summary:
It starts right after a sign stating "ABSOLUTELY NO TRESPASSING"....hmmmm....

I saw a guy at the trail head, and he advised me of some good trails near RDC. He said I could probably bike there if I wanted, but "tread lightly" as the owners don't like people there. I went out to the cabin and back. It was ok. Nothing spectacular or worth going back for seeing how the sign is right there.

The downhill at the start is pretty fun and steep in some sections. One little jump I didn't hit because I didn't know what was hiding on the other side. The trail seems to be shaped like this: "U." Enjoy the down, then push up the steepness for a while and come back down. Then push back up to the start and leave. It was worth the trip once. Don't plan on going back. I'm deterred from the sign. And it's short.

If you like biking up, it is more than possible and might be what you're looking for. For me, there wasn't much traction, my derailleur needs adjusting, I just started going to the gym the day before and worked legs, anymore excuses......Mmmmmm...nope. that's it.

The directions on this site are spot on. I had no problem finding the trail.

Recommended Route:
The trail starts South side of the little bridge. It's fairly straight forward. Follow the main path.

Just moved here. First one I've ridden.

Close to RDC is supposed to have good trails.

Summary:
The trail is hella fun. going down is a blast. Tree;s on the right and cliffs on the left.
the cabin at the end of it was kinda weird. Thats why we call it the creepy cabin trail. The hill climbs are brutal, not sure how much of a climb, but feels like a mile.

Recommended Route:
go to canyon ski hill and park just before the gates. Bike back south till you see the trailhead on the left side. turn and enjoy

Other recommended trails in the same area:
the horse trails mat heritage ranch, the mountain bike park
