Cross Country Rider Summary: Weaslehead is illegal for bikes (which is stupid city hall & NIMBY's) & shouldn't even be posted here.
The place to go is on the north side of the Elbow River west of North Glenmore Park which is legal for bikes & no one goes there.
If anyone has been there since the June '05 flood, please post an update Recommended Route: Heading west on the paved path from North Glenmore park, head down the big hill & leave the pavement at the corner half way down the hill & head west on single track. There are many offshoots along the escarpment but the main trail goes all the way west to the fence by the Weaslehead Road bridge on the Tsuu Tina Nation where the new ring road is supposed to go.
With various loops of trails, it can be a couple of hours of fun. Mainly easy & fast, with a few tricky places, watch out for crumbling shoreline & overgrown willows. Other recommended trails in the same area: west end of fish creek park
Tuscany/12 mile coulee

, from Calgary Summary: Not very challenging. trails are pretty flat and are frequented quite often with hikers and equestrians. A good ride if you are just begining mountain biking. The police are always out in full force during summer time so be prudent. I really would not recommend this trail. Stick to the pathways if you really want to see weaslehead. Recommended Route: Use glenmore pathways or the 37th St pathway. They will lead you directly into weaslehead Other recommended trails in the same area: fish creek

, from Calgary Summary: So here's the real deal.... It's not a bad trail, yet compared to any real trail, it sucks the big one. Because it's in the middle of Calgary, this is a good late fall / early spring trail, because there's no snow. If you do this one though, watch out! Cops like to frequent the area, usually on horseback. Since it's illegal to ride there, make sure you are ready for either the $50 ticket, or make sure you are faster than they are.
Recommended Route: as above
