Cross Country Rider Summary: Rundle Riverside is a rough, rooty singletrack that follows along the south bank of the Bow River and the lower north face of Mt Rundle. It can be ridden in either direction between the Northeast end of the Banff Springs golf course road and the Canmore Nordic Centre. It is mildly challenging just because of the constant roots and can be slow going, but a fun ride nonetheless that makes a nice long loop around Mt Rundle when combined with the Goat Creek trail. There are a few fast sections but expect mainly slow riding. Full suspension is nice for this one. There is minimal elevation gain/drop except for the final long uphill to the Nordic Centre when coming from Banff...or a fast downhill right at the start of the ride if going to Banff. Recommended Route: either way.
To go from Banff to Canmore, start at the trailhead at the Northeast end of the Banff Springs Golf Course road
Canmore to Banff: start from the end of the Banff Trail at the northwest end of the Canmore Nordic Centre.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Minnewanka, Surprise corner/Douglas Fir/Hoodoos, Ross Lake (Lake Louise area), Goat Creek, Canmore Nordic Centre

Recommended Route: well once a year would be nice. if you get bored riding this route nab a kayak and scoot down the water to canmore, nice! check out some of the side streams on your right but watch out for overhanging tree trunks, i lost a mates kayak this way ooops!! Other recommended trails in the same area: north of the bamff springs hotel thru the car park there is a good 15k loop up and down.

, from Calgary Summary: Geezuz - talk about a nut and bolt rattler of a ride. Roots and small rocks galore. The trail doesn't give much in total elevation but the roller-coasters really suck the air out of your lungs. It's not a particularly technical trail but it sure tests the quality of your bike and it's suspension (DS is nice here!). You also ride through a number of creek washouts with fist-sized chunks of rocks that are somewhat tricky to ride through. All-in-all, not a bad ride if you get your rocks off on rooty sections of trail, but riding the loops at the CNC after we doubled-back is so much more fun! You are also out in the boonies and there isn't too much traffic on the trail so pack gear... an extra tube and patches are nice, as is a few Clif bars. Recommended Route: dunno. I started from the Nordic Centre, took the Banff Trail (fire road) to the end and hooked up with the single track trail to Banff. About 6k or so of Nordic Centre riding and 15k of trail for about 40-ish km ride. Other recommended trails in the same area: CNC, Sulphur Springs, Powderface

, from Banff, Alberta Summary: Ya it my be a rough trail, but I guess thats Mountain Biking. The first time I ever road The Banff Trail was back in 86 when it was no more then an ignorred animal trail. It tore the fendes and rack off my bike. Its a fun trail if your feeling aggressive, if not it will beat you up. Recommended Route: Out the golf course road to the trail head. Follow the trail to the Canmore Nordic Center. Do a few World Cup laps and head home the same way. Other recommended trails in the same area: One of the few trails still open in the Park.
